Huchuy Qosqo 3D/2N

We will start the tour with an early pick-up from your hotel, at 8:30 am, to drive to the site known as “apukunak tiyanan” (3800 masl), Where we can appreciate a beautiful dwelling with gigantic faces (10 meters) carved in stone, our tour guide will explain to us during the tour. Then we go to the town of Chinchero where we will be able to appreciate the archaeological site of “Cúper Bajo”, especially the Piuray Lake, immense and with crystal clear waters of approximately 10 kilometers of perimeter. Our camp will be right on the shores, where we will have a delicious lunch prepared by our route cook. Once installed and well fed we will be able to take a ride on ATVs around the lake, some will be able to stay there to appreciate the beautiful sunset, that night we will have local dinner and be able to sleep peacefully away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The day’s walk will begin early, at 7:00 am, with a slow walk for 3 hours, the road is full of Andean landscapes, wild crops such as tarwi, and a large number of Andean cacti. We continue towards the Pukamarca pass at 4200 meters above sea level, where we can enjoy views of the surroundings, immense mountains, snow-capped peaks. Then we will walk along the path that leads to a small typical Andean community with the name of Pukamarca (4000 masl), there we can have lunch and have a short break and then continue with the walk. After about 2 hours we will be in Huchuy Qosqo, this ancient town is located on the side of a mountain, with incredible panoramic views of the sacred valley, the Vilcanota River and the snow-capped mountains that surround the area. Huchuyqosqo is an Inca archaeological complex with imposing archaeological buildings that include large open ceremonial structures, water channels, and temples. They were built with the most beautiful architectural style used by the Incas.

While you are in the archaeological complex, you will explore this site on a guided tour, we will have time to take photos for the memory and explore a little on your own. Then we will descend to the small town of Lamay (2900 masl) located in the Sacred Valley, where its people grow white corn for export.

Once there, our private transport awaits us to take us to the Ollantaytambo train station where we will board a train to Aguas Calientes. The train ride is very scenic with exceptional views and intriguing ruins along the way. You’ll discover how on a 45-minute train ride, the vegetation changes from the highlands to that of the rainforest. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes they await us to accompany us to our hotel.

Time to get to know the world wonder, this day starts early at 6.30 am boarding our Consettur bus from Aguas Calientes to Machupicchu (30 minutes approximately). Our professional guide accompanies us throughout the tour of the wonder of the world, we will be able to appreciate its majesty and perfection. Then we will have free time to explore the site on our own, take photos for the memory, etc. Then we must return to Aguas Calientes on the same bus to board our train back to the Ollantaytambo or Poroy station, where our transportation awaits us to take us back to the hotel.
